Since the COVID-19 Pandemic, there has been an unprecedented need for substitute teachers across the country. ESS, a leading US-based education staffing firm, partners with thousands of school districts across the country to help them meet their substitute and temporary staffing needs. Over the course of the past two school years, the need for substitute teachers has doubled, representing an unprecedented increase of over one million new substitute teacher requests from the districts they service.

The Solution

In May of 2022, ESS engaged GetScale to enhance their substitute teacher and paraprofessional recruitment efforts in key districts. GetScale was contracted to source and onboard new incremental applicants on behalf of ESS, implementing a customized strategy of digital growth channels and high-velocity applicant recruiting to help meet the rising need for substitute teachers.

The Results

As of December 2023, GetScale has recruited over 5,400 new working substitute teachers and paraprofessionals for the education client resulting in $27M in incremental revenue. The success of this initiative has led to the expansion of GetScale into additional states, including recruitment of new roles in the districts they support.
