Hired Substitutes
Incremental Shift Filled
Incremental Revenue
The combination of growing temp staffing demands and the most competitive labor market in over a decade is creating an incredibly challenging environment for specialized staffing firms. As such, staffing organizations continue to struggle to source and hire qualified staff - especially across specific sectors like healthcare, education, logistics and construction.
According to a report by the McKinsey Global Institute, unfilled staffing roles in the US are projected to grow to 85 million by 2025. To meet this staffing challenge, top firms are leveraging technology and specialized service providers to increase their sources of applicants and optimize their lead-to-hire metrics.
In 2022, GetScale (GSI) was engaged by a $1B+ US-based education staffing firm to support their substitute teacher and paraprofessional recruitment efforts in key markets. Across their markets, the firm was struggling with sub-60% fill rates with their partners - resulting in over $150M in annual lost revenue and straining their district relationships.
GSI was contracted as a new applicant source to source and onboard new applicants on behalf of the firm. GSI implemented a customized strategy of digital growth channels and high-velocity applicant engagement for their most critical market.
Over an initial 6-month pilot period, GSI recruited over 1,700 new working substitute teachers and paraprofessionals for the education client resulting in over 58,000 incremental filled shifts.
Fill rates for the overall market improved by ~5% with an incremental revenue impact of $11M. The success of this initial pilot prompted the expansion of the initiative to an additional 115 school districts and is expected to deliver over $8M of incremental profits.
